Netflix Original Virgin River Season 3 is set to air on July 9th. Ever since Netflix released its trailer, the fog of mystery gradually spreading over the Virgin River has intensified. So much so that questions have been keeping fans up at night.
Virgin River Season 2 ended with Jack lying in a pool of his own blood as someone shot him and Mel Monroe rushing inside his bar. As we can see in the trailer, Jack will survive the fatal attack. This season will focus on Mel’s desire to have a baby – a baby with Jack. But is it possible?
Is Jack Infertile?
Since last season, some fans have been speculating Jack might not be able to produce a child naturally. It seems that might be the case.
As Jack and Mel’s fans are excited to see their relationship has been going well and strong, residents of Virgin River are encouraging them to take the big next step – having a baby. While Mel, who struggled with pregnancy before, prepares herself to try again, Jack pulls his guard up for some unknown reason. Also, Jack’s visit to Doc has been leading fans to speculate that maybe Jack is infertile.

Who is the Father of Charmaine’s Baby?
In Season 2 of Virgin River, Charmaine gave birth to the twins of Jack. But, in the trailer when Jack says, “I know what you want, I just don’t know if I can give it to you” while arguing with Mel about trying for a kid, leads us to question who is the father of Charmaine’s babies?
Some fans aired this same question on Reddit saying, “Which would be an unexpected way to find out that the twins aren’t his. [It’s] Going to be interesting to see how they kill that whole storyline.”
The series is based on Robyn Carr’s novel with the same name, and in the book, Mel indeed gets pregnant! This mystery keeps increasing.

What About Everyone Else?
Doc and Hope
The most on-again-off-again relationship in Virgin River is between Doc Mullin and Hope. They are separated. Hope is the town mayor, while Doc is, well, doctor. Show-runner Sue Tenney told Netflix, “He’ll have to deal with ‘some stuff’ that will challenge both himself and his relationship with Hope in the next season.” According to the trailer, Mel asks Doc whether he is going blind, to which he replies ‘Maybe’. The clinic and town are his life. Can he and Hope be able to rise to such a challenge? We’ll find out in season 3.

Preacher and Christopher
In season 2 of Virgin River, we saw Preacher, Jack’s business partner, was in a dilemma whether to accept the new Chef’s job in San Francisco or accept Paige/Michelle’s son Christopher’s plea for help. His situation became more complicated when he received an ambiguous message for revenge from Christopher’s dead biological dad, Wes’s twin brother. What will he choose? Even showrunner Tenney was not very vocal about it in her interview. She said, “If you watch the show, you’ll know how he is going to respond to a call to duty.”
In conclusion, Tenney told Netflix that she is “incredibly excited about Season 3. It’s filled with twists and turns, and the season finale is a stunner.” Well, if that’s the case, the anticipation for Virgin River Season 3 is officially top-notch.
What do you think will happen in the next season? Is Charmaine lying about her babies’ father? Will Doc really become blind? Will Preacher stay back in Virgin River and adopt Christopher?
