Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson starred as Steve Rogers/Captain America and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, respectively in numerous MCU films, which boosted them to new levels of fame. The duo will now appear together in the adventure film ‘Ghosted.’ The movie is a Dexter Fletcher directional. He previously directed the Elton John biography Rocketman. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are the scriptwriters, who previously worked on Deadpool.
As The Hollywood Reporter reveals, the concept of the narrative is “a high-concept romantic action-adventure in the vein of Romancing the Stone.” Romancing the stone is a 1984 classic featuring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. Previously, Johansson and Evans have worked together in three Avengers films, Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.
Evans and Johansson are not just on-screen buddies like Natasha and Steve; they’re also excellent actual friends, as proved by interviews. The two successfully persuaded the OG Avengers cast to get matching tattoos after the film. Although, it was mostly Scarlett’s idea. They also praise each others various projects, such as Marriage Story and Knives Out.
Is this their first on-screen appearance apart from the MCU?
Outside of the MCU domain, the two have collaborated on several other endeavors. Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson appeared together in the teenage comedy movie, The Perfect Score, in 2004. After that, it wasn’t long before they flaunted their onscreen connection once more. Evans played the suitor of Johansson’s leading lady, Annie Braddock, in the 2007 rom-com The Nanny Diaries.
Although the stars undoubtedly profit from working together, the Hollywood hits also come at a high cost. As a result, Apple TV+ will do a heavy investment in this venture. Especially when we know the streaming service is just two years old. However, audiences will undoubtedly gather around the screen to see the perfect in sync Avengers stars reunite once more.
